HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS SESSION
The KNP Christmas sessions are so much fun
and always turn out to be an amazing event!
We want your session to be as amazing
as you’re expecting it to be, so
PLEASE READ THROUGH TO THE BOTTOM!
*** IMPORTANT ***
Since bookings will be so close together and held in one large room, we can’t allow access to the bathroom before your session because of the possibility of giving away Santa’s ‘magic hiding spot’, so please stop somewhere to use the restroom and be completely dressed when you arrive… but you’re more than welcome to use it afterward! :)
Make your list and check it twice!
Even for my regular sessions, I always love focusing on the all details
that go into creating beautiful portrait artwork for my clients...
and this event is no different!!
The color scheme and every item displayed
on the Christmas set have been specifically hand chosen to provide a realistic
set for the experience with Santa and your children,
so the outfits you choose are very important!
The first thing to do is to decide whether you prefer pajamas, a dressy outfit,
or a casual outfit. (We won’t interrupt Santa's time for clothing changes,
so you’ll need to decide and have them dressed before you arrive…
UNLESS you book two sessions, then you’ll have time for a clothing change!)
Not every “Christmas outfit” truly compliments the set and backdrops…
stripes, large patterns and anything with copyrighted characters
or text are strongly discouraged because it takes away from the set, the interactions, and your beautiful faces!

2. WHERE TO GO
The studio address is
14215 US Hwy 231/431 N, Hazel Green, AL 35750
It’s a two-story white building with black trim, located on the corner of West Limestone Road and Hwy 231 North.
3. WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early and park anywhere in the gravel or grass.
We will do our best to stay on time throughout the day, but when dealing with kids and animals, there are things that sometimes push us behind no matter how hard we try!
When you arrive, remain in your vehicle or outside with your family.
When the family prior to you is exiting,
we will text the mobile number on the info form to invite your family into the studio.
You’ll enter the studio through the front door (located on the East/highway side).
During the ‘in-between time’,
Santa and Mrs Claus will hide in the back
and the Elves will do a quick refresh of the studio to get prepared for your family!
There will be a few couches, coloring sheets and activites in the waiting area for your kiddos when you arrive so please feel free to use the distractions to keep them close so they don’t see Mr & Mrs C behind the big red curtain!
4. DURING THE SESSION
It will be very busy and compact in the studio due to the set taking up so much space and having to keep up with the kids / pets while they’re with Santa & Mrs Claus. This means we aren’t able to accommodate a lot of adults to watch the portrait session experience.. so sorry!
We’d love to get a family picture or two if you’d like! We usually do those last, but it really depends on your child and how the session is going.. sometimes its best to do it at the beginning.
Either way, we’ll roll with it!
Your children, pet, Santa & Mrs Claus will be able to see you from the set, so be careful
of your facial expressions and try not to talk so we can try to get the best behavior and expressions!
Even though Santa and our Elves will try to keep the tears at bay, sometimes it doesn’t always go as planned, so it you see your child/pet overly stressing, you’re more than welcome to step in and save the day!
(And for those that enjoy a few crying photos, I’m here for that too! lol)
5. AFTER YOUR SESSION
In the waiting area, you’ll get to see and touch a variety of Artistry Products that will be available for purchase in your gallery.
All sessions will receive an email with the link to your gallery within 10 days.
If you chose the Classic or Deluxe Package:
You’ll choose the designated number of favorite images in your package and you’ll also see a couple of my favorite images fully edited
so you can see an example and choose your favorite editing style.
I’ll keep you updated during the editing process and let you know as soon as they’re ready for download.
If you’ve chosen the Signature Upgrade:
Your images will already be fully edited and ready to download!
The only decisions you’ll need to make will be about your Christmas cards and album!
